Dr. Fung's research interests are in the fields of nutritional epidemiology, especially the link between dietary patterns and quality, and chronic disease development. Dr. Fung completed her dietetic internship at the Yale-New Haven Hospital where she also worked as a clinical nutrition specialist in many specialties, including geriatrics. At Simmons, she teaches nutrient metabolism, medical nutrition therapy, and preventive nutrition. She is also a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Nutrition. Her current research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, and she collaborates with investigators at the Harvard School of Public Health to use data in the Nurses' Health Study and Health Professionals Follow-up Study for her work.
