SHS faculty practice in their respective fields, and serve as leaders and consultants in myriad settings. This means students have access to some of the best minds in the business — and to classes brought to life by real experience. Moreover, our professors are dedicated teachers who pride themselves on being personal mentors to their students.

Dr. Gerald Koocher has been the Dean of SHS since 2001. Dr. Koocher is the author of numerous articles and books, including Ethics in Psychology, the nation's best-selling ethics text for psychologists. He is nationally recognized for exemplary contributions to the field of clinical psychology and is a recent recipient of the national Society of Clinical Psychology's Florence Halpern Award. He is a former President of the American Psychological Association.
