Simmons Main Academic Campus houses the Main College Building (MCB), Beatley Library, Park Science Center, and One Palace Road
Residence Campus
Simmons Residence Campus houses all of the undergraduate and graduate dormtories, the Holmes Sports Center, Bartol Dining Hall and Quadside Cafe
1 Main College Building (MCB)
All of your non-science classes will be held in this building. Also located here are the Admission and Financial Aid offices, the Trustman Art Gallery, art studios, music practice rooms, college bookstore, and the Fens Cafeteria. In addition, the "MCB" is the location of the new College Center, which provides community gathering space, a coffee bar, and high-technology classrooms.
2 Beatley Library
Provides access to 250,000 books and journals in print, and an additional 26,000 journals, 35,000 books, and 130 databases online. Librarians are available for help with research in person, over the phone or email, or even through online live chat (AskNow). For more information about the Library, please visit the Simmons Library website. The Beatley Library building also houses the Communications Department and Advancement (Development, Alumni Relations)
3 Lefavour Hall
Lefavour Hall is undergoing renovation to be completed June 2007. It will extend the Beatley Library, in addition to housing the Modern Languages department and Technology offices.
4 Park Science Center
Science students call this home as all their classrooms, more than 50 laboratories, including a molecular biology lab, plus faculty and student research facilities and a nuclear magnetic resonance strectrometer are located here.The School for Health Studies (SHS) is also located in the Park Science Center.
5 One Palace Road
The new academic building at One Palace Road houses the Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS), the School of Social Work (SSW), the Career Education Center, Career Resource Library, Counseling Center, Academic Support Center, as well as state-of-the-art technology classrooms, Media Center, the Pottruck Technology Center, and the GSLIS Tech Lab. One Palace Road opened in summer of 2002.
6SOM Green Building New!
The new SOM Green building is designed to be both beautiful and practical, with all the amenities appropriate for a 21st-century school of management. It also will be one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in Massachusetts -- part of our commitment to "walking the talk" as we educate women to be principled leaders who make positive contributions to their communities. The SOM Green Building opened in January 2009.
7 Simmons Residence Hall
Houses primarily first year and sophomore undergraduate students and three of our special interest communities in double and triple rooms. Also home to a student computer lab.
8 Dix Residence Hall
(Renovated in 1999) Houses mostly upperclass undergraduate students, including transfers.
9 Smith Residence Hall
(Renovated in 2004) Houses undergraduate students, including transfers. Smith Hall offers 4-person suites with two double bedrooms, a common room, and a bathroom; 5-person suites with two double bedrooms, a single bedroom, a common room, and two bathrooms; and double rooms with private bathrooms. Also home to the Quadside Cafe.
10 Arnold Residence Hall
(Renovated in 2003) Houses primarily juniors and seniors, including transfers. Also home to a student computer lab.
11 North Residence Hall
(Renovated in 2000) Houses graduate students and Dix Scholars in single rooms. Also home to a student computer lab.
12 Health Center
Open for appointments, walk-ins, and emergencies; provides everything from cold packs, to routine exams, to gynecological care.
13 Holmes Sports Center
State-of-the-art facility with 8-lane swimming pool, sauna, racquetball and squash courts, weight room, dance studio, basketball court, and suspended track.
14 Athletics Field
15 South Residence Hall
(Renovated in 1999) Houses undergraduate students, including transfers and first years. It is also home to the Wellness Community which focuses on a healthy lifestyle.
16 Alumnae Hall
Used for special events such as dances, parties, performances, and special dinners.
17 Bartol Dining Hall
The main dining hall for resident students. Features full meals. Vegetarian offerings, salad bars, pasta and pizza stations and more. Also houses the student mailroom.
18 Evans Residence Hall
(Renovated in 2000) Suite style housing for upperclass students. Also home to the multicultural center.
19 Mesick Residence Hall
Houses undergraduate students, including transfers and freshman. Also the site of a student computer lab.
20 Morse Residence Hall
Houses undergraduate students, including transfers and first years.
