About the Library

In partnership with the faculty and staff of the College, the Simmons Library's purpose is to make your educational endeavors as successful as possible, from our newly renovated facilities, to our highly competent and helpful staff.

Simmons students also may access the collections of the Fenway Library Consortium, which includes more than a dozen public and university libraries.

About Beatley Library

Located in the newly renovated Lefavour Hall, the beautiful Beatley Library offers attractive and comfortable work spaces with access to technology, including 14 group study rooms, more than 100 computer workstations, a media listening and viewing room, wireless access throughout the building, and laptops that can be borrowed for use in the Library. A central information commons houses the circulation, reference, and technology desks. The Library also offers an online reference service, AskNow.

Collections

Beatley Library houses the bulk of the more than 250,000 volumes and over 2,000 periodical subscriptions owned by Simmons, as well as a rapidly expanding collection of media materials. The Library’s special collections encompass college archives, education, health sciences, library and information sciences, management, social work collections, plus special resources in areas such as women's studies and juvenile literature.
