U.S.News Ranks Simmons College Nursing Among Nation's Top Online Education Programs

BOSTON (January 11, 2012) — The Simmons College Nursing program was included in the first-ever 2012 edition of Top Online Education Program rankings released by U.S.News & World Report this week.

Simmons College was ranked in two graduate education listings: Student Services & Technology, and Student Engagement & Accreditation.

In order to be considered for the rankings, online degree programs needed to have at least 80 percent of their course content available online. Data was collected from both for-profit and not-for-profit schools. This is the most recent ranking for Simmons College. Other recent accolades include being listed in the 2012 U.S.News & World Report ranking of "America's Best Colleges," the 2012 Princeton Review Guidebook of the "Best 376 Colleges," and the 2011 Forbes.com list of "America's Best Colleges."

The Simmons College nursing program has been educating nurses since 1902, and nurse practitioners since 1978. The nursing students' pass rate on the (NCLEX) Registered Nurse exam is 97 percent for first-time takers and 100 percent for accelerated students. The national average is 88 percent (according to the National Council of State Board of Nursing).
