Simmons's rankings in Princeton Review's The Best 371 Colleges guidebook and
in Forbes.com's America's Best
Colleges list ran in newspapers and on TV websites nationwide throughout the end of July and beginning
of August. Simmons also appeared in a top-10 list of women's colleges in Forbes' Aug. 12 article
"Why
Women's Colleges Are Still Relevant."

Chair Zach Abuza appeared in several media outlets in response to the bombings in Jakarta
in mid-July. He was interviewed on NewsHour with Jim Lehrer July

Biology Professor Elizabeth
Scott, co-director of the Center for Hygiene and
Health in Home and Community, was quoted in the July 26 Chicago
Tribune story on hygiene issues surrounding children wearing Crocs shoes in pools. The story

An Assistive Technology class project by student Caitlin Kraus, titled "GoogleLitTrips for Students with Language-Based Learning Disabilities," was highlighted on the Google Lit Trips website's homepage. Google Lit Trips uses Google Earth's map functions to take students on a virtual field trip of locations cited in historical fiction, novels and non-fiction.
