The Simmons School of Social Work's Longitudinal Study's research on the impact of family conflict on teens, led by School of Social Work Professor Helen Reinherz, was mentioned during PBS's nationally syndicated Bill Moyer's Journal April 20. An article about the study also appeared in several Spanish-language media outlets, including El Tiempo, a Colombia newspaper, DiarioHoy.net (Argentina), and Cooperativa (Chile).
And an article ran in GateHouse News Service March 11, picked up by the Taunton Daily Gazette, among others.

Honorary Degree Candidate and afternoon Commencement Speaker Greg Mortenson was selected as the ABC News's "Person of the Week" March 27.

Simmons School of Management Professor Jill Avery was quoted in a March 12 article in The Economist about the recent trend in recession-hit companies targeting female consumers.

Simmons School of Management Associate Professor Sylvia Maxfield was interviewed live March 30 by WILL-AM, the NPR public radio affiliate at the University of Illinois' main campus, on the program Focus 580. She discussed "Socialism in the United States? Myths, Realities, and Variations."

Zach Abuza, chair of political science and international relations, published an op-ed on Thailand's political stalemate in the April 16 New York Times. He also was quoted in March 12 Global Post article on Thailand's Islamic insurgency.

Simmons School of Management Professor Deborah Kolb was quoted in the April 7 Forbes.com article "How to find secret shopping savings", and she was featured in the April 2 Boston Globe, providing tips for asking for a better price when shopping. She also was quoted in a New York Times syndicate article, titled "Tough Job Market Requires Action," which was picked up April 7 by Emirates 24/7, the United Arab Emirate's first and only business newspaper.

Education Professor Nina Senatore was quoted in a March 21 Boston Globe article about parents' over-involvement in their children's school projects.

Communications Lecturer Dan Connell was quoted on the Eritrea-Ethiopia conflict and U.S. policy in the April issue of the Congressional Quarterly's Global Researcher.

The new School of Management and Academic Building was featured in an April 6 Constructionreviews.com article. The building has been selected as a Green Building of America Award-Winning Project and will be featured in the upcoming special edition of Real Estate & Construction Review-Northeast "Green Success Stories."

Simmons College was mentioned in a March 29 Boston Globe travel section article on The Fenway neighborhood. It referenced the School of Management and Academic Building as "one of the first green college buildings in the area."

Simmons School of Management Dean Deborah Merrill-Sands was interviewed on the Diva Toolbox™ Radio Show on WNSH-AM April 18 about the School of Management Leadership Conference.

English Professor Afaa Michael Weaver was mentioned in a March 18 Somerville News article about the city's numerous writers. He also was interviewed on Somerville Community Access TV April 7.

An article on English Professor Renee Bergland's presentation on the history of women in science, which took place March 17 at Boston University, ran in the March 18 Daily Free Press, BU's student newspaper.

Simmons School of Social Work Professor Alumna Jean Fain was featured in the March 1 Boston Globe regarding her Compassionate Weight Loss CD. Fain is psychotherapist and hypnotherapist who counsels clients with eating issues.

Student Jessica Brody was pictured in a March 11 article in The Armenian Reporter about Project SAVE's Armenian Photograph Archives. Brody is a intern working at the archives.
