Simmons School of Management Assistant Professor Jill Avery was quoted in a Dec. 26 New York Times article, giving her brand marketing feedback on a new Ritz cracker national marketing campaign.
Catherine Capolupo, director of undergraduate admission, was quoted in a front-page Jan. 7 Boston Globe article about colleges turning to Web tools to recruit new students. She discussed how admission counselors at Simmons have Facebook and MySpace pages and correspond with prospects via instant messaging.
Sociology Professor Anna Sandoval Giron and her sociology class on Globalization were featured in a Dec. 23 Sunday Boston Globe article. The article, which described how the course paired the students with recent immigrants studying ESL to exchange ideas, interviewed several Simmons students and their partners. Susie Flug, associate director of undergraduate service learning at the Simmons College Scott/Ross Center for Community Service, also was quoted.
Biology Professor Elizabeth Scott, co-director of the Simmons Center for Hygiene and Health in Home and Community, was quoted in the January issue of Redbook magazine about protection against germs.
Assistant Professor of Education Daren Graves was interviewed on Minnesota Public Radio Dec. 21 to discuss the resurgence of racist actions on some college campuses. He said that campuses are a "cauldron of cultures where such issues can become magnified."
