Women & Leadership: Simmons President To Join Executive Discussion

Simmons College President Helen Drinan will participate in a panel discussion on women and executive leadership at the Massachusetts Hospital Association's 8th Annual Executive Women in Health Care Conference, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m., at the Sheraton Hotel in Framingham, Mass.

Drinan is a well-known and respected leader in health care, civic, and business circles, having served as senior vice president of human resources at Caritas Christi Health Care prior to coming to Simmons. The panel will discuss a number of issues related to women and leadership, including staying productive in a fast-paced, information-driven environment; achieving a work-life balance; and developing a personal sense of style and presence. The conference is expected to draw more than 350 women.

Other panelists include: Alice Tolbert Coombs, MD, FCCP, president-elect of Massachusetts Medical Society & critical care specialist at South Shore Hospital; Pauline Pike, chief operation officer of Beverly Hospital, Northeast Health System; and Amy Siemmer, Esq. executive director of Health Care for All.

Drinan received her master of library and information science degree from the Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science in 1975 and her MBA from the Simmons School of Management in 1978. She earned her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College.

The Massachusetts Hospital Association is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization comprised of hospitals and health systems, related organizations, and other members with a common interest in promoting the health of the people of the Commonwealth.
