Stefano Falconi is the senior vice president of finance and administration, and treasurer. Before joining Simmons in July 2008, Mr. Falconi was vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer of Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J. There, he was responsible for improved budgeting and planning methods and greater transparency in financial reporting.  Previously, Mr. Falconi was vice president for administration and chief financial officer of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Penn., where he oversaw all administrative and financial functions of the university.  As director of finance at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he was responsible for strategic financial planning, budgeting, and capital planning processes. Prior to that, Mr. Falconi served in several positions related to academic planning, sponsored research, and finance at Harvard University. Mr. Falconi holds a J.D. maxima cum laude from the University of Padua in Italy, and an M.B.A. from the Harvard School of Business Administration, with a concentration in corporate finance.  A member of the Italian bar, he practiced corporate law for several years in Italy prior to moving to the United States.
