Simmons College

Helen G. Drinan joined Simmons College as president in July 2008 and brings a depth of leadership experience in non-profit and for-profit organizations. Ms. Drinan has been closely connected to the College for more than three decades, having served as a member and chair of its Board of Trustees, and in her role as an alumna. She graduated from the Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science in 1975, and the Simmons School of Management in 1978. Ms. Drinan received her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and was a volunteer for the Peace Corps in the Philippines.  Ms. Drinan previously worked for nearly two decades at BankBoston Corporation and for several years as senior vice president of Caritas Christi Health Care System, the second largest health care system in New England. Additionally, Ms. Drinan served as president of the Society for Human Resource Management, a global professional organization, from 2000 to 2002, and has been a member of the board of directors of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts since 1995.
