Simmons College

Michèle V. Cloonan is dean of the Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science.  Before joining Simmons in 2002, she was an associate professor and chair of the department of information studies at UCLA.  Dr. Cloonan has published extensively in the areas of preservation and publishing history.  She also has served as a preservation consultant to a variety of cultural institutions.

Dr. Cloonan is the current president of the Association of Library and Information Science Education. She also serves on the boards of the Northeast Document Conservation Center, where she is vice-chair, and the Massachusetts Center for the Book. She holds degrees from Bennington College (B.A.), the University of Chicago (M.A.), and the University of Illinois (M.S. and Ph.D.).
