Director of Online Programs

Under the leadership of President Helen Drinan, "Strategy 2014", the first five-year phase of Simmons College's strategic initiative, is underway.  In support of this initiative, Simmons is now embarking on a comprehensive hiring plan. As such, Simmons invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of Online Programs.  Reporting to the Provost, the Director of Online Programs will provide strategic leadership for the design, development and implementation of online initiatives using state-of-the-art technologies and instructional design.  Simmons is poised to enter the online market in a coordinated, aggressive manner.  The administration is acutely aware that it needs a robust online program to remain competitive and grow.  Therefore, the Director role is being established at a pivotal moment in Simmons's history, and will oversee an online program that is intended to reinforce the Simmons brand, generate incremental revenue and develop a sustainable competitive advantage.

The Director of Online Programs will champion development, implementation and strategies for quality and growth in online offerings.  This will be accomplished in collaboration with university leaders to ensure that the best program offerings, work processes, delivery methods, technology and resources are available to students, staff and faculty to ensure their success.  Furthermore, the Director will serve to develop college-wide technical and professional capabilities for the online community.  Simmons College seeks a leader with a demonstrated track record of experience in campus-wide matters related to online learning, including accreditation, assessment, and accessibility.  Moreover, he/she is a visionary, one who will set and maintain clear goals and objectives for academic affairs in support of campus-wide online education.
