Simmons College Emergency Management Plan

Simmons College has a commitment to ensure the safety and general welfare of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to its campuses and to provide appropriate policies, procedures, and strategies to maintain safety. Campus safety requires building support and conducting a thorough and systematic process to produce a quality plan to prepare for and manage emergencies on campus.

This Emergency Management Plan has been designed to provide a guide and framework for Simmons College to prepare for and respond to campus-wide emergencies.The safety and protection of all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to Simmons College are critically important; this plan identifies the preparedness, response, and recovery plans designed to ensure this objective. This plan also describes the roles and responsibilities of departments, schools, units, and personnel during emergency situations. The basic emergency procedures are designed to protect lives and property through effective use of college and community resources.
