Cynthia Kangeyo, '15 Learns Spanish in Madrid

June 18, 2014

Cynthia Kangeyo

Cynthia spent her summer in Madrid! We asked her a few questions.

What are you studying at Simmons?

I'm majoring in international relations and political science and minoring in economics

Where are you spending your summer? What are you doing?

I'm spending my summer in Madrid taking Spanish courses at Antonio de Nebrija University. I'm planning trips to Morocco and Belgium while I'm here!

What's the most rewarding part of your experience so far?

Exploring Madrid and immersing myself in its culture as much as I can. I've seen a bullfight at Plaza de Toro, attended Sunday mass at the Catherdral of Madrid known as "Caterdal de la Almudena" and learned how to cook "paella," one of Spain's most popular dishes.

What most excites you about coming back to Simmons in the fall?

Finishing up my senior year so I can do more traveling. But hopefully this time I'll be getting paid to do it!
