Holly Ledoux

Holly designed an incredible website for her web design class.

What are you studying?

Communications with a double concentration in graphic design and public relations and marketing.

What drew you to your major?

In 2008 I read an article in Seventeen Magazine on the career of the month. Graphic design was featured and it sounded so interesting and perfect for me! Art was my favorite subject in school.

What's your favorite thing about your program?

I love how in depth we go with Judith Aronson. She teaches many concepts in each project and really pushes us to perfect our work. I think it's preparing me for the real world.

How did you create your midterm project? How did you come up with the idea?

The midterm project was for my web design class. We were introduced to an outside code called Skrollr, which basically means as you scroll you can make things happen. As Professor Groves was going over the technique I was already thinking of a story I could make, and for some reason a spaceship flying through space was the first thing that came to mind, so I ran with it!

If you could have dinner with 3 celebrities, alive or dead, who would they be and why?

Amy Poehler, Tine Fey and Beyonce. I would love to laugh all night and have a great time with those women! I think we would have the best time -- maybe even make a funny home video for a new Beyonce song!

What's your dream job?

Working as an Art Director or Layout Editor for a major magazine like Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, or a major corporation like Macy's.

What's your favorite spot on the Simmons campus?

The corner nook in Common Grounds, it's always so warm and sunny during the afternoon!

What are you doing over winter break?

I plan on taking a month off from everything. No work for the first time in 4 years! I want to enjoy the time with my family and friends before I jump into internships in the spring and summer.

Fill in the blank: I love Simmons because...

...I have grown into a person I love being. A stronger, more confident woman who believes in herself and her goals for the future.
