We are pleased to announce that Dr. Edelstein received the Medallion Award for her dedication to the dietetics profession

Dr. Sari Edelstein, Associate Professor of Nutrition at the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Simmons earned the 2015 Medallion Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Given out annually since 1976, the Medallion Awards honor members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics who have demonstrated dedication to the high standards of the dietetics profession. Recipients are leaders and actively serve others in the field of dietetics.

A long time faculty member at Simmons, Dr. Edelstein teaches the Food Science and Food Service classes in the Nutrition program. Additionally, she founded a member interest group in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is the author of 12 nutrition textbooks used in the field. Dr. Edelstein is also one of three Simmons nominees for the 2015 U.S. Professor of the Year program, a recognition of her commitment to teaching and excellence in undergraduate education.
