School of Management Students Visit Keurig Headquarters with the Network of Executive Women

Seven SOM undergraduate students were accepted into the Network of Executive Women (NEW) Mentorship Program, and participated in their first Kickoff Event at Keurig Headquarters.

The Network of Executive Women (NEW) is the largest and leading community of female leaders in the retail and consumer goods industry, representing 10,000 members at more than 750 companies. This Mentorship Program aims to introduce, inspire and support female undergraduate students starting a career in the consumer goods industry.

Seven School of Management undergraduate students were accepted into the mentorship program and received the opportunity to tour Keurig Headquarters with NEW New England. The following Simmons students were selected to participate in the program: Isabella Alveal ‘17,  Rachel Cole ‘17, Azeb Freitas ‘17, Kayla Humel ‘18, Molly McDonald ‘18, Sabika Mirza ’19 and Tenley Weinstein ’19.

Students received mentors from companies such as Keurig, Slice Intelligence, United Natural Foods (UNFI), Ahold USA, Mondelez International, Procter & Gamble and Kelloggs. In addition to an endless supply of free coffee and an entire wall made of K-Cups, students shared that their favorite part of the event was developing strong relationships with their new mentors. Throughout the course of the mentorship program, mentees will receive:

  • Free attendance to two CPG networking events in the Fall and Spring semesters
  • Introductions to other business professionals to grow their networks
  • Education on the different roles and career opportunities within the CPG industry
  • Guidance and advice on business professionalism, from resume tips to email etiquette
  • Support in landing an internship or job
