Charlene Spiceland

Faculty represent Simmons at conferences and in presentations.

Assistant Professor Charlene Spiceland was elected president of the Southeast Region of the American Accounting Association as for 2018-19. Spiceland also co-wrote an article, “Admission Criteria for Children with Obstructive Sleep Apnea After Adenotonsillectomy: Considerations for Cost,” published in the Journal Of Clinical Sleep Medicine, December 2017. She made presentations at the 2018 Teachers of Accounting at Two-Year Colleges (TACTYC) Conference in Tampa, FL (May 19, 2018) and the Southeast Regional Meeting of the American Accounting Association in Greenville, SC (April 20, 2018).

Associate Professor Spela Trefalt presented her work on how professionals learn to set, maintain and negotiate boundaries between work and personal life at the Work and Family Researchers Network Conference in Washington, D.C. in June and at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Chicago in August. At the same conferences, she also shared how to navigate early career stages as an academic and her experiences on creating positive relationships in an online classroom.
