Jillian Ruddock

Jillian works in Admissions at Simmons. She answered a few questions!

Where are you from? Where did you go to college?

I'm from Boxford, Massachusetts. I graduated from Simmons with a BA in history.

What's your favorite thing about Simmons? 

The relationships between the students and faculty. The Simmons faculty are very hands on and supportive of their student's goals and aspirations. They are truly invested in their success.

What's your favorite part of your job?

I really enjoy meeting with students and their families.

What should students look for when choosing a college?

Students should look for a college that will challenge them academically and expose them to new experiences. It's also important to look for a community where you will feel comfortable being yourself.

If we visited your office, what would we see?

Pictures of my family and friends, artwork and post-it notes littering my desk.

What's your favorite thing to do in Boston?

I love walking around the city. There are so many unique shops, restaurants and beautiful parks off the beaten path. I've lived in Boston for 8 years and I'm still discovering new places. I also love visiting Boston's museums and historical sites.

Favorite book?

On the Road by Jack Kerouac.

Favorite movie? 

The Princess Bride.

Favorite artist?

Tracey Emin's neon text and John Singer Sargent.

Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life?

Emma Watson or Emma Stone. They are both strong, intelligent and quirky. It would be an honor to have one of them play me in a movie. 

What's your favorite local lunch?

There are so many amazing places to eat in the Fenway neighborhood! El Pelón Taquería and Tatte Bakery & Cafe are two of my favorite places.

What's your dream vacation?

Seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland.
