Winter is Coming to the Simmons Library!

Our new book display, with its Game of Thrones theme, is all the proof you need.

 

Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire), written by George R.R. Martin, is a series of epic fantasy novels set in a fictional medieval world. Martin is known for detailed descriptions and plot twists in the interwoven tales of several families as they angle for power. The series has been adapted for television by HBO and just completed its second season.

Are you Team Peeta or Team Gale? What about Team Atwood or Team Orwell? Our Hunger Games-inspired book display is full of dystopian literature and information on privacy, surveillance, propaganda, and more. Come check it out -- and may the odds be ever in your favor!

The Simmons Library, Organizacion Latino America, Department of Modern Languages, and the Office of Student Leadership and Activities present a movie night series!  Come watch on Tuesday evenings in the Student Activities Center.  The first is El Abuelo on March 27th!

In preparation for the April 12th unveiling of Simmons'involvement with It Gets Better, read the book that came out of the project's early days.

Beatley Library recently acquired a month long trial of CQ Press State Stats (ending 28 March 2012). This web-based resource provides comprehensive data coverage of each state including health care, crime, education and more.
