In honor of "Brave Women, Bold Ideas, Big Change," the Committee of 200's conference being held at Simmons on Tuesday, the College Library has prepared several exhibits celebrating women leaders and entrepreneurs.

Just inside the Library's entrance, books about women who have been leaders in politics, business, entrepreneurship and sports are highlighted.   Featured outside the College Archives reading room of the second floor of the Library is an exhibit profiling some of the women who shaped the early history of Simmons College--including trustees, faculty, and alumnae.

Please take a moment to learn more about the impactful big changes that brave women and bold ideas have had both at  Simmons College and beyond.

The Convocation ceremony at Simmons College has traditionally served as the official welcoming of students and faculty into the new academic year. Simmons Convocation began as a dedication to the College's founder, John Simmons. In honor of this year's Convocation exercises, the College Archives has prepared a "History of Convocation" available online at http://www.simmons.edu/library/about/exhibits/370.php"> and also outside the College Archives in Room L220.

The College Archives invites the Simmons Community to visit a display of selections from the Archives' collection of historical children's books.

Books by Lewis Carroll, Louise May Alcott, Beatrix Potter, and others--many dating back to the 1800s--are prominently featured, as are an Alice in Wonderland chess set and other delightful pieces from the Archives Memorabilia Collection. These items will be on display outside the College Archives on the second floor of Beatley Library throughout the month of April.
