SciFinder is the premier resource to go to for in-depth articles on chemistry topic and patents.  You can also quickly and easily get cited and citing references for an article, detailed molecular structure information and the steps & stages of chemical reactions.

Start exploring SciFinder as soon as you create your unique log-in.  You'll be able to export articles to RefWorks, save them in SciFinder and check the Simmons Library for the full-text!  There's also a structure/reaction editor where you can draw chemical structures or import from other editors.  For more information on SciFinder, contact a librarian!

Computers in the Library during finals!

At the end of the semester, computers in the library can fill up fast. Did you know that there are some "hidden" computers you can use? There are often open computers in the Media Viewing/Listening Room on Level G. Please feel free to use the computers in the Library Classroom on Level 2 (LIB-225)--as long as there isn't a class in session (class hours are posted outside the door). Additionally, there are several computers and a campus print station you can use at the Career Education Center, M-106; these rooms are open when the CEC is open (check their hours here: http://my.simmons.edu/services/cec/index.shtml). You can also borrow a laptop from the Technology Desk in the Library.

Quiet Places to Study in the Library

| Comments | No TrackBacks
Beatley Library isn't a silent library--but there are areas that are quieter than others. Level 2 and Level G are generally the quieter floors, and both have individual study carrels. The Media Viewing/Listening Room on Level G is a great place to find some quiet. All Simmons students, individuals or groups, can also reserve study rooms at the School of Management: http://somstudyrooms.simmons.edu.
As you search through our catalog for sources for your paper, check out Library Thing to help you find more.  It's the Similar Books and Tags that are underneath every catalog entry:
