In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire -- considered the deadliest industrial tragedy of its time, -- come see the book display in the Library, and go to the Boston Workmen's Circle multi-media performance "The Cloth From Which We Are Cut" Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Simmons College.

The stirring performance portrays the poverty and struggles of various immigrant communities in the early 1900s by combining historical narrative with the folk music that was born in the sweatshops. The catastrophe had an enormous impact on both women's and workers' rights.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the Linda K. Paresky Conference Center at Simmons College, 300 The Fenway in Boston.
