The biennial Summer Institute, an intensive weekend-long program, is part of the Center for the Study of Children's Literature.

This year's program includes a symposium taught by Associate Professor Kenneth Kidd from the University of Florida and appearances by Mordicai Gerstein, Sara Pennypacker, David Small, Jacqueline Woodson, and Gene Yang.


The library has put together a book display honoring The Body Electric theme of the 2011 Summer Institute.  The display is located immediately inside the main library entrance on the first floor of Lefavour Hall.

The Petrucci Music Library, which offers online scores and parts for music in the public domain, has just reached a major milestone: as of July 17, they now have 100,000 scores (from over 40,000 different works) available online for free.  Check out the site, if you haven't had a chance:

Library Mobile Catalog is Updated!!

The Library's mobile catalog has a new look and tons of new functionality.

From the mobile catalog you can now: perform a basic search, search journal titles, access your account, renew items, and place a hold.

To view the updated interface simply visit http://library.simmons.edu from your phone or go to the Library's mobile website http://www.simmons.edu/library/m and select "Library Catalog'
