Checking Out Laptops, Headphones, and More

Simmons students, faculty, staff, and alumnae/i may borrow laptops and other peripheral devices from the Information Commons Technology Desk for use within the Library. Laptops and other equipment are not allowed to leave the Library.

Both PC and Apple laptops are available and come equipped with the same software available on desktop computers in the Library. Peripheral devices such as mice, ethernet cables, tape players, zip drives, floppy drives, and headphones are also available.

To check out items from the Technology Desk, users must read and sign the Laptop and Equipment Policy Agreement. All laptops and equipment are due back in 3 hours, and can be renewed at the Technology Desk. Fines of $20 per hour will be assessed for overdue items, and after 24 hours users will be charged for the entire cost of the equipment.

  • Please note, after 7:00pm on weekdays and 5:00pm on Saturdays, a current Simmons ID is required for entry to Lefavour Hall. A current Simmons ID is required to access the building at any time on Sundays.
