Using the Information Commons

The Information Commons, located on the first floor of  the Library, offers a variety of technology resources to Simmons students, faculty, staff, alumnae/i and guests.

Over 140 Information Commons computers, including PC’s , Macs, and Dual Boot Macs (running both Mac and PC operating systems), are equipped with many common business and academic applications, such as Microsoft Office and the iLife suite. Express Web and Print Stations allow for quick access to the internet, email, or printing needs.

Technology Desk staff are available to provide assistance with using equipment or software, answer questions, or refer users to other resources on campus. At the Technology Desk, Simmons students, faculty, and staff can also borrow equipment such as laptops and other devices for use within the Library.

  • Please note, after 7:00pm on weekdays and 5:00pm on Saturdays, a current Simmons ID is required for entry to Lefavour Hall. A current Simmons ID is required to access the building at any time on Sundays.
