Sheryl WuDunn

Sheryl WuDunnAcclaimed author and human rights activist Sheryl WuDunn has been chronicling economic, political, and social conditions in the developing world for 20 years. With a background in both business and public policy, she spent much of her career at The New York Times, moving seamlessly from international correspondent in the Beijing and Tokyo bureaus, to project manager in strategic planning at the corporate level, to anchor of the NYT's "Page One" nightly broadcast.

Collaborating with her husband Nicholas Kristof, WuDunn was the first Asian-American to win a Pulitzer Prize, awarded for their coverage of China's Tiananmen Square protests. Since then, they have co-written two influential books on the Far East as well as the current bestseller Half the Sky, describing how women entrepreneurs are transforming societies around the world. In 2009 WuDunn and Kristof received the Dayton Literary Peace Prize's Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of their work to promote peace through the written word.
