Business Leader & Entrepreneur

Halla Tómasdóttir

Change catalyst Halla Tómasdóttir is on a mission to inspire and empower leaders to pursue principle-based leadership and gender balance. A business leader and entrepreneur who has worked in the US, UK, and across the Nordics, she was the first female CEO of Iceland’s Chamber of Commerce and co-founder of the world’s first investment firm to be based on feminine values. Her company, Audur Capital, was one of the few financial companies to survive the collapse of Iceland’s banking system. Tómasdóttir later moved to Denmark to establish a new private equity firm, Sisters Capital, which partners with companies that share in the quest to do well while doing good. In 2016, Tómasdóttir brought her bold vision to a campaign for Iceland’s presidency, a long-shot candidacy that garnered unexpectedly strong support. She continues to promote the participation of women at the highest levels of decision-making as a consultant and speaker, and as a board director for Veritas Capital and co-chair of Women Corporate Directors, Iceland Chapter.
