Alison Overholt

As vice president and editor-in-chief of ESPN The Magazine and espnW, Alison Overholt is the first woman to hold the top editorial position at a national, general-interest sports magazine. She was part of ESPN's early efforts to research and develop a sports media offering for women and was espnW's founding editor. Under her guidance, ESPN The Magazine received the prestigious National Magazine Award for General Excellence in the news, sports, and entertainment category presented by the American Society of Magazine Editors. For the past two years running, Overholt was named one of AdWeek's Most Powerful Women in Sports and one of Folio's Top Women in Media. The NYC Metro Chapter of WISE (Women in Sports and Events) also honored her as a Woman of Inspiration in 2016. Overholt currently teaches applied research methods to students in the sports management, hospitality, and tourism departments of New York University.
