11/12/13: National Conversation on Board Diversity

2020 Women on Boards is a national campaign to increase the percentage of women on US company boards to 20% or greater by the year 2020.

This event will be one of many held across the country to promote gender diversity on US corporate boards. Last year, 1400 people attended 27 events in 21 cities. We expect this year's event to be even more successful.

The 2020 Women on Boards campaign:

  1. Creates a goal: 20% gender diversity on US corporate boards by the year 2020.
  2. Takes the message to the masses: Educates people about what a board does and speaks to many groups about why diversity is important.
  3. Holds companies accountable: Categorizes companies into 4 categories: W, V, T, and Z. (W = 20%+, V = Very Close, 11-19%, T = Token, Z = Zero.)
  4. Advocates for change: Sends monthly challenges, congratulates W companies and encourages the Z companies to add women. Educates and engages people throughout the US and selectively abroad through social media and events.

Participants of the 11/12/13 event are joining an incredible network of people who are dedicated to the mission of increasing gender diversity on corporate boards. Your efforts make a difference.
