Library & Information Science (MS)/Archives Concentration (Online program)
The fully online cohorts follow the same curriculum as the on-the-ground students, however, due to the cohort-based nature of the online program, the courses are set out in a more structured way, with two courses planned for each semester. Due to a much higher demand for the Fall 2013 start date, the school has decided to merge the Summer 2013 and Fall 2013 groups into one cohort, which will start in Fall 2013.
Please be aware that a major component of the Simmons GSLIS Archives Management concentration is the internships that occur at two times during the program of study. The first of these is a 60-hour internship that will be completed during your second semester as part of LIS 438; the second is a 130-hour field study that will be completed during your last semester (this is the major component of LIS 502). We are committed to working with you as an online student to find sites in your local area, and will begin working with you on this process once your first semester's classes are underway.
