University and Digital Archivist at the University of Massachusetts Amherst
Aaron Rubinstein is the university and digital archivist at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is an adjunct faculty member at Simmons College, teaching LIS 469 - eXtensible Markup Language (XML) and LIS 440 - Archival Access and Use. Before the University of Massachusetts, Rubinstein was the archivist for Digital Collections at Tufts University and before that the collections manager at the National Yiddish Book Center. He earned his master's in library and information science from Simmons College.
Rubinstein is involved in the development of the Encoded Archival Context (EAC) standard, the National Archival Authorities Cooperative, and a member of the International Council of Archives, Experts Group on Archival Description. He specializes in linked open data and the semantic web and has been involved in many projects that experiment with new ways of publishing data about archival and cultural heritage material.
