Title: Social and Behavioral Sciences Team Leader, Cline Library, Northern Arizona University


Jolie Graybill is the social and behavioral sciences team leader at Northern Arizona University's Cline Library. She began her tenure there in November 2006. She is responsible for managing the social and behavioral sciences team; supporting the university's social and behavioral sciences courses, programs, faculty and students by integrating Cline Library research resources and services; and planning, implementing and evaluating team efforts. Prior to the NAU Cline Library position, Jolie held a position with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln University Libraries as assistant professor and multicultural services librarian. Her responsibilities included developing multicultural collections, serving as liaison librarian to international studies, Native American studies, Latin American studies, ethnic studies, African and African American studies, and outreach.

Jolie received her M.A. in library science and information technology from the University of Arizona with assistance from both the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Diversity Scholars program and the University of Arizona's Knowledge River program. She holds an M.Ed. with a concentration in youth development leadership from the University of Minnesota, as well as a B.S. in journalism/mass communication from the University of Kansas.

Jolie mentors a current ARL diversity scholar, and serves on the University of Arizona Knowledge River Steering Committee. She had the unique opportunity to participate in the 2007 ALA Emerging Leaders program, received a 2006 ALA Diversity Research Award, and attended University of Minnesota Libraries' 2006 Institute for Early Career Librarians. Before joining academic libraries, she held positions with the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension and the University of Minnesota Extension Service where she focused on leadership development with teens, youth, and the adults working with them.
