Andrew Whitmore is a visiting professor at GSLIS. He holds a PhD in Information Science from the State University of New York at Albany, an MS in Information and Telecommunication Systems from Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Economics from Cornell University. He has previously served as a lecturer at SUNY Albany, an economist at the Consumer Price Index and as an IT Auditor for Ernst & Young LLP. His main areas of research interest include information policy, economics of information, public sector information systems, open source software and simulation. He teaches Technology for Information Professionals, Database Management, and XML.
