Pamela MacKellar is an author and library consultant who has been a librarian for over 25 years. She has held positions as a newspaper librarian, library director, assistant librarian, health sciences librarian, cataloger, technology consultant and independent consultant in libraries of all kinds including special, school, public, post-secondary, tribal, prison and state library agency. Pam holds an MLS from the State University of New York at Albany.
Author of The Accidental Librarian, Pam has also co-written Grants for Libraries: a How-To-Do-It Manual; the feature article in Computers in Libraries July-August 2006, "Wishing Won't Work: 10 Things You Need to Know and Do When Applying for Technology Grants"; Grant Writing Basics, a web tutorial for the University of North Texas School of Library and Information Sciences; and she co-hosts the Library Grants blog. She has presented at the Computers in Libraries Conference, Internet Librarian Conference and the New Mexico Library Association Annual Conference. Pam has taught classes and workshops on grants for libraries and non-profits, written successful proposals for government and foundation grants, administered grant projects and reviewed grant proposals for federal and state agencies.
Currently Pam is co-authoring Winning Grants: A Multimedia How-To-Do-It Manual for Librarians, to be published by Neal-Schuman Publishers in 2010.
