Elizabeth Marcus Wolfe is Director of Brockton Public Library in Brockton, Mass. She is current Vice President/President Elect of the Massachusetts Library Association. She has held positions as director at public libraries, as State Aid Specialist for the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, and as Trustee/Friends Liaison for the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Prior to her career in library service, she served as a manager in the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court/Trial Court, Office of Jury Commissioner. She is the principal contributing editor of the Massachusetts Public Library Trustees Handbook published in 2000. Ms. Wolfe received a Bachelor degree from Harvard University in 1978 and an MS in Library Science from Simmons College GSLIS in 1997. She was awarded Paralibrarian Advocate of the Year by the Massachusetts Library Association, and was instrumental in founding and developing the MLA Paralibrarian Section. Ms. Wolfe is Past President of Old Colony Library Network. In addition to her work in library service, Ms. Wolfe is a soprano soloist, poet, blogger, and author of the literary novel "Memories of Glory." In her capacity as Library Director, she has founded and developed Author/Speaker series, Food for Fines programs, a library fundraising foundation, One City/One Book community literacy programs, fundraising gala events; and has conducted LSTA grants and private corporate grants. She brought a NASA sponsored display of moon rocks to the library in 2009. Ms. Wolfe is passionate about public libraries' role in supporting democracy and recycling.
