Dr. Bruce Tis is a computer engineer who specializes in operating systems, computer networks, and computer security. Dr. Tis is a tenured Associate Professor at Simmons College and has chaired the Computer Science and Information Technology Department. He teaches computer science and information technology in the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as the Graduate School of Library and Information Sciences. He also holds an adjunct professor appointment at Boston University, Metropolitan College Computer Science Department where he has taught for over 25 years, primarily in the graduate computer science and computer information systems programs in both online and face-to-face format. He currently teaches course in Java programming, data structures, computer architecture, computer networks, operating systems, computer and network security, and technology fluency. He has done research in the area of distributed operating systems. Dr Tis is also interested in computer science education and has published papers on on curriculum design and computer science pedagogy and conducted workshops on computer security.
