Howard Silver
Title: Co-Head and Biological Engineering Librarian, Engineering & Science Libraries, MIT


Howard Silver, Interim Co-Head of the Engineering and Science Libraries, has been at MIT Since 2001. Prior to that he held positions as Head of Information Services at the Tufts University Health Sciences Library in Boston and as Head of Access Services at the Hahnemann University Library in Philadelphia. In addition to his Doctor of Arts Degree from Simmons (2007), Howard has a BA in Zoology from UNH, a MSc in Zoology from Queensland University, and a MS in Library Science from Drexel University. His professional interests include use studies of public spaces in academic libraries, and tools to support personal knowledge management. He is active in the Medical Library Association and currently teaches LIS 484: the Literature of Science and Technology Librarianship.
