Anna L. Nielsen is a PhD candidate graduating from the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign May 2010. Her dissertation is titled, "Invisible Scarlet O'Neil and the Whitman Authorized Editions for Girls: Homefront Representations of the American Feminine and the Feminine Heroic During World War II." Her research areas include children's and young adult literature, new media and information technologies, childhood studies, and literacy and reading identity. She teaches classes in children's and young adult literature as well as new media and youth literacy.
