Bonnie Isman is the Director of the Jones Library, the public library serving the Town of Amherst, Massachusetts.  She oversees the main and two branch libraries, an award-winning English as a Second Language Center, local history archives and research collections on Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost, and web-based services including nationally recognized online exhibits featuring historical resources.  She began her professional career as Adult Services Librarian at Jones Library, during which time she developed a county-wide community information and referral service.

Ms. Isman's commitment to library service has led her to leadership positions on the local and statewide level, among them President of the Massachusetts Library Association, President of the Central/Western Massachusetts Automated Resource Sharing (C/W MARS) computer network, and President of the Western Massachusetts Regional Library System.

Prior to becoming Director of the Jones Library, Ms. Isman worked in the U.S. Virgin Islands as an Audiovisual Specialist for the Department of Education and as the Resource Librarian and grant writer for the Bureau of Libraries, Museums, and Archaeological Services on St. Croix.
