The Portland Public Library, Maine's largest public library, is seeking a dynamic and experienced fundraising professional as the Development Manager, to oversee the direction and scope of development efforts. Working with the Executive Director and Trustees, these efforts include annual giving, corporate sponsorships, major gifts, foundation grants, and special project fundraisers, to meet goals set by the Board of Trustees.
Required: Degree from an accredited college or university; strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills; demonstrated success in fundraising in a web environment; strong ability to use technology, social networking resources and word processing; experience in data management and technology to communicate and perform research related activities, as well as experience using donor tracking software; strong service orientation and demeanor to provide a high level of service to a diverse public; well developed sense of humor, and demonstrated ability to maintain production deadlines and schedules.
Preferred: Graduate degree; experience in a library or non-profit environment; public relations, advertising or marketing experience. 25 hour position with excellent benefits and competitive pay scale (DOQ); supportive and collegial work environment.
