Head of Circulation, Lucius Beebe Memorial Library, Wakefield, Massachusetts
After earning a BA in French and German Studies from Connecticut College in 2003, Jaclyn Strycharz spent the next six years at a Boston-based financial trade journal, the last two of which she combined with working towards her MLIS at Simmons. Since 2010, she has been the Head of Circulation at the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library in Wakefield, a member of the North of Boston Library Exchange (NOBLE). While in this position, she has become active both within the network and at a state-level as chair of NOBLE's Resource Sharing Working Group and a member of the Massachusetts Library Network Cooperative's Circulation Development Committee.
While at Beebe Library, Strycharz has spent time collecting and analyzing all manner of library usage statistics, including patron demographics and circulation trends. She is currently at work on a large-scale data project which she hopes will provide the library with valuable insight into how and when both the collection and physical space are used in order to maximize available staff and financial resources.
