Please see below for links and, where applicable, detailed information about the curriculum for each GSLIS program.

Master's Degree

GSLIS grants one Master's degree: a Master of Science in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS). (Although this means that GSLIS students graduate with an M.S.L.I.S., it is the equivalent of what is commonly referred to as the "MLIS" degree.) Every Master's degree student, regardless of program, must meet the overall program requirements laid out on the Curriculum page (link for students who entered the program prior to Fall 2013 | link for students who entered the program beginning in Fall 2013 or thereafter).

NOTE: A student in the master of science degree program must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0 (B). A student who fails to meet this requirement will ordinarily not be considered for exclusion from the School until he/she has completed at least 12 semester hours. It is understood, however, that the student's connection with the College may be terminated whenever, in the judgment of the faculty, he/she fails to show sufficient scholarship.

Within GSLIS, there are three major paths: Archives Management, Generalist LIS, or School Library Teacher. Those following the generalist program, may further choose to pursue one of many different tracks. Below, we have listed the information and/or links for each of these areas.
