Cataloger, Consultant, Adjunct Professor
Dodie Gaudet began her library career in academia, but has worked primarily in non-traditional library settings. During all of that time, she has been affiliated with technical services first as a copy cataloger, then as a cataloger, department manager and ultimately as a consultant and workshop leader specializing in AACR2 and MARC. Currently, she is a self-employed cataloger, consultant and teacher working for a variety of libraries and library organizations in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Gaudet is a past president of NETSL (New England Technical Services Librarians) and of MLA/TSS (Massachusetts Library Association/Technical Services Section).
Gaudet holds a bachelor's in history from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a master's in library science from Simmons College. She spends her free time practicing yoga, reading mystery books, completing crossword puzzles and cooking gourmet meals. She is also a trustee of the Hatfield Public Library and president of the Friends of UMass/Amherst Libraries. While commuting, she listens to classical music, not audio books.
