GSLIS students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the many networking opportunities available to them through the Simmons GSLIS and professional communities.
Students are welcome to attend the annual spring GSLIS Alumni and Professional Development Day, often as guests of attending alums. The Alumni Board also holds annual career panels for the benefit of current students. Additionally, Simmons GSLIS has a large number of student organizations, many of which are connected to the national professional organizations and their local chapters.
Students are often able to join the national associations at special rates, enabling them to gain exposure to every aspect of the profession. By attending meetings, helping with events, and becoming involved, GSLIS students get the chance to network with alumni. Check out the following sites:
