Collection Services Department Head, Auburn Public Library, Auburn, ME

QUAL: Requirements: MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited institution. Experience working with library automation in a public library setting. Supervisory experience and public service experience desirable.
Knowledge and Abilitlies: Good knowledge of library collections, information retrieval techniques, and popular reading materials. Knowledge of principles and methodology of contemporary collection development techniques. Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone, in writing, and in person. Flexibility. Sense of humor.

DUTIES: The Auburn Public Library in Auburn, Maine seeks an energetic, customer service oriented Librarian to oversee the Library's collection development, acquisition and maintenance activities.
Responsibilities include: Collection analysis, creation of collection development guidelines, coordination of selection and deselection, budget oversight, promotion of collection, creation and maintenance of bibliographic records, supervision of staff and volunteers.

SALARY: $37,654 - $53,204 with excellent benefits. 37.5 hour workweek.
