Children's Librarian, The Town of Falmouth Public Library


QUAL: Position requires an MLS degree, 2 years increasingly responsible professional supervisory experience and thorough knowledge of automated library systems, ability to relate well with others, flexibility, initiative and judgment, strong computer and reader advisory skills.

DUTIES: The Town of Falmouth Public Library is seeking a Children's Librarian to plan, organize and oversee children's services including staff scheduling, selection of materials, collection management. Individual will also develop services for children, serve as liaison to School Dept., other libraries and community groups; schedule and publicize activities, perform circulation and reference duties, assist patrons, and maintain positive public relations. SALARY: Hiring salary range $783 - $847/wk.

Library Director, The Auburn Public Library


QUAL: MLS from an ALA accredited program and MBLC certified with a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in a public library with at least four years of supervisory and managerial experience preferred; excellent oral and written communication skills; IT experience with a knowledge of current and future trends; and strong personnel management experience.

DUTIES: The Auburn Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking candidates with a strong public service commitment to administer and manage the functions, activities and operations of the library. The position requires an ability to manage traditional and evolving library services; significant IT experience; financial management and experience with municipal budgets. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of town government. The successful candidate will need active community outreach skills and public relations skills. The ability to effectively work with other town departments and the public is a requisite.
