Master of ScienceARL AcademyThe ARL Academy is funded by a grant from IMLS. Its purpose is to identify, educate, and give hands-on experience to new talent who can bring a depth of previously gained educational and professional experiences to academic and research libraries. As Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Fellows, these academics and professionals will be immersed, through their MS program, in the core philosophical and theoretical experiences necessady to contribute at professional levels to libraries. Simultaneously, they will earn practical work experience in ARL libraries that will significantly increase their exposure, competence, and marketability upon graduation. AdmissionCandidates for the ARL Academy must first be admitted to GSLIS. (See admission requirements here.) Students who come to Simmons GSLIS with an advanced degree must complete 30 credits of GSLIS coursework to earn the MS degree.
