The Supervisor/Director Certificate is designed for those individuals who
wish to qualify for school district- or system-level supervisory positions. Our
program for supervisors/directors of school library teachers
is approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education, the ICC, and the
National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification
program. It leads to the award of the Doctor of Arts degree after the completion
of 36 semester hours of prescribed course work, including a practicum or
internship, clinical experience, and a supervised field research project.
Degree Requirements
The 36-semester-hour program includes:
- management and research related courses;
- 75 clock hours of practicum or 150 clock hours of internship;
- 400 clock hours of clinical experience; and
- a supervised field research project.
The completion of this program leads to the Doctor of Arts degree and the
Supervisor/Director Certificate preK-12.
